AutoGravity worked with a consulting agency to design a prototype for a Proof of Concept. When I came on board, they were looking to improve designs for the initial launch. In addition to improving designs for current functionality, they also wanted to add functionality such as leasing, account management, and improving the credit application flow.
To understand which users we need to target for certain features, we created user personas based off of customers surveys and interviews. We came up with four main personas, two of which we want to focus on targeting to increase conversions in our app.
For the lease integration project, the focus was on keeping the flow similar, while also introducing lease options. This meant not only using our existing screens to show the difference between lease vs loan pricing, but also having a way to select the lease price. The introduction of leasing also meant that we needed to refactor our calculator to fit the different terms of leasing.
I started off this project by doing a competitive analysis and user research. During my the design phase, I sent out design surveys as well as doing unmoderated user testing online. The results of these tests help shape the designs for the needs of our users.
We conducted a focus group to test out our fetaures against some of our top competitors and gained valuable insight from this study. Because of this research, we understood the areas that we really needed to focus on.
Finally, the UI team did a great job of not only skinning based on my wires, but also coming up with some unique concepts. In particular, the Select Make and Model screens really shine with the imagery used here. Overall, this flow has been rated very succesfull from the survey we conduct with our users.
